MONICA
MARCELLA M.A.
CLINICAL THERAPIST

Hello
Welcome to my therapy practice. I'm Monica Marcella, a dedicated psychotherapist based in Busan for the last 12 years. Originally from Indonesia and raised in Australia, I have completed my higher education in Korea, fluently speaking Indonesian, English, and Korean. My unique multicultural experience enriches my understanding of the challenges faced by foreigners in Korea, resonating both personally and professionally.

Holding a Master's degree in Clinical Psychotherapy, I've accrued over 1000 hours of therapy experience, working with a diverse clientele from around the globe. My practice is informed by a variety of therapeutic approaches, including Attachment Theory, Schema Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, as well as mindfulness and movement practices. This eclectic mix allows me to tailor my approach to suit each client's individual needs, focusing on issues ranging from difficult family relationships and trauma healing to cultural adaptation challenges.

My expertise is particularly strong in helping clients navigate the complexities of adapting to new cultures, overcoming family of origin issues, and managing conditions like ADHD, anxiety, depression, and bipolar disorder. I believe in a client-led therapy process, where we work together to set and achieve goals at a pace that feels comfortable for you. My approach is empathetic and supportive, aiming to create a safe space for growth and self-discovery.

My commitment to being a steadfast support for my clients is rooted in my own journey through mental health challenges. I understand the transformative power of therapy from both a professional and personal standpoint.

In my downtime, I enjoy gardening and growing plants, a hobby that reflects my beliefs in growth, nurturing, and the healing power of nature.
Thank you for considering embarking on your therapeutic journey with me. Together, we can explore the path to positive change and well-being, tailored to your pace and comfort.
